improvisation lessons

improvisation

For one person, improvising primarily means delightfully filling in and being able to express their story, while for another, all that freedom can sometimes be a stumbling block. Studying theory and acquiring knowledge about chords can be enlightening but also confusing, and there are plenty of other ways to grasp improvisation. I'd be happy to teach you to improvise from your own creativity using scales, patterns, and embellishments, without being overly distracted by complex chord progressions.

You are welcome for improvisation lessons on any melodic instrument (lessons are not suitable for piano, guitar, or vocals).

The lessons last an hour and cost 40 euros. You can schedule a trial lesson for 20 euros to get acquainted. If you prefer to play for a longer stretch of time, two hours in a row are also possible (70 euros). The topics covered depend on your experience and, of course, your personal preferences. Here are a few examples:

- Rest and structure in your solo
- Making the most of what you already know
- Four ways to solo in blues scales
- Improvising on chord progressions
- Improvising without chord progressions
- Knowing where you are in a tune
- Finding the key while playing

Additionally, you can make use of my concise course on chord theory and analyzing chord sequences if needed. So, if you'd like to improvise and are not sure how, if you have a classical background and want to break free from the sheet music, or if you seem to be stuck with your improvisation, feel free to contact me for a trial lesson.
